Accessibility and Supports

ASL Translation

ASL translation will be available at the Summit. The ASL translator’s video can be enabled or disabled using the Sign language interpretation view button. Access full instructions for using this feature in Zoom at Enabling Sign Language interpretation view.

Closed Captioning

Closed captioning will be available at the Summit. This captioning will be provided by an external service as opposed to the sometimes inaccurate automatic Zoom captions. To enable or disabled captions, click the “CC” button on Zoom. Access full instructions for using this feature in Zoom at Viewing captions in a meeting or webinar.

Summary Notes

Although sessions will be recorded, these recordings will not be shared with attendees to protect attendees’ anonymity when asking questions, sharing stories, or disclosing disabilities. Recordings will only be accessed by Summit organizers for report purposes.

We understand that many attendees would like to review sessions afterwards. To support this, we will prepare and send summary notes of all sessions to registered attendees within two weeks of the Summit.

Chat Moderators

Any abusive, harmful, or inappropriate chats will be deleted and the user will receive a warning via direct message from a chat moderator. If you continue to use harmful language, you will be removed from the Summit. Please direct any concerns about the Zoom Meeting chat as a direct message to someone named “Chat Moderator - …” or “Organizer - …”, or email stemwithdisabilities@gmail.com.
